Fonique�s road to electronic production was a long and somewhat twisted one. Originally the main songwriter and one of the two bass players in Brisbane funkmetal outfit Wastrel, he developed his taste for deep, bass driven grooves with ever present funky flavours. His influences range from 70�s funk and hiphop to heavy metal and punk rock, and it is this diversity that is immediately noticeable in his unique style. Hard to put into a specific genre, fonique�s use of choppy funked up beats, sub shaking bass frequencies, uplifting melodies and innovative use of samples make for a distinctive sound like no other.
