Amy studied music from a young age, starting on piano and violin and later picking up voice and theory. By the time she left high school Amy had sung most styles of music, won the Trinity College medal for highest marks in a violin exam in the state (tasmania) as well as winning various other prizes for music, particularly singing. In 1997 she won the Griffith Uni full scholarship to study voice with Professor Janet Delpratt at the Qld Conservatorium and as a student she continued performing in front of orchestras, in opera, with big band, cabaret, music theatre and short films. In her final two years Amy twice received the prize for the highest marks in the vocal department and upon graduating in 2001 made her professional solo debut in Opera with Opera Qld, and also as soloist with the Queensland Orchestra. About this time she realised opera wasn�t enough for her whirring brain and creative urges, and started writing pop music with Andrei Maberley in Dropdragon, as well as classical music with pianist Paul Hankinson. Dropdragon gave Amy the opportunity to develop her string writing, and not long after (2003) the pair were asked to write music for the UK/Australian production of Channel Nine�s �The Sleepover Club.� During the production of the show Amy continued to perform with the Queensland and the Queensland Ballet, writing music for their season of Excalibur. She also won the noise/triplej remix competition for her remix of the Superjesus� �Shudder� and released her first classical recording �Art Songs� which received daily on Classic FM. Amy and Andrei have just finished writing music for an Australian Dinosaur Documentary entitled �The Terrible Lizards of Oz� and currently, after all these distractions, the pair are finally about to begin writing the elusive Dropdragon debut album.
