Waiter is a four piece band that formed in Hobart, Tasmania in 1997. Their essentially rock sound is comprised of a variety of influences, which draw from ethnic, folk and jazz traditions. Rich vocal textures, driving rhythms and melodic guitar lines create the powerful sound of Waiter.
Waiter's single No Before Now, selected for noise 2003, captures the sound of one of Tasmania's best emerging music artists.

After five years of performing to audiences in Tasmania and Victoria, Waiter approached a professional studio to record their independent debut release which includes the single No Before Now.
The band secured internationally acclaimed Producer Tony Cohen (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and The Cruel Sea). Engineered & Co-Produced by George Goerss at Red Planet Recordings and mastered by Don Bartley at Studios 301 in Sydney, the CD delivers a fresh outlook of the band in the recorded environment.
