Nick Batchelor

biography I was born on the Gold Coast in December of 1981. I have two younger sisters, and an elder brother. My primary school was Gilston State Primary, and i went to high school at All Saints Anglican School. I completed Grade 12 in 1999, then went on to study a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Fine Art (QCA- Griffith Uni Gold Coast). I completed my degree in 2002, then decided to do honours this year. My course at the QCA allowed me to experiment with many different technique's. My specific favourites are short film and photography, and I have managed to win two awards (cutting edge award, and first prize in experimental short film) in local film competitions. A school and Uni mate (Cameron Anderson) and myself have also founded a t-shirt company called Sidearm. We started by selling shirts at the local markets, and have recently had interest from a alternative clothing store called Pop Mart. We are hoping to also 'get in' with larger companies such as General Pants Co, etc. Cameron and myself have also recently been a part of Fresh Cuts 2003 at the Institute of Modern Art in Brisbane.
