I am an emerging artist concerned with notions of marginality currently based in Sydney. Trained in printmaking, I work primarily with photography, film, sculpture and installation. At the moment, my current work engages notions of Asian-Australian identity in relation to masculinities and sexuality. Recently graduating from a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the College of Fine Arts in 2002 with First Class Honours, I was a recipient of the Australian Postgraduate Research Award. In the past five years, I have participated in numerous group shows in Sydney and abroad including ArtExpress at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the City of Hobart Art Prize in Tasmania. Recent projects have included collaboration with five other artists in the transformation of a semi-industrial shop front into Holt Street Gallery, an ephemeral and temporary exhibition space in Sydney. I will hold my first solo-show at Project Space/Gallery 4a in May this year and I am currently undertaking postgraduate study into sexuality, Asian-Australian identity, and contemporary visual culture through a Master of Fine Arts.
