Essentially the issues I deal with in my paintings, at their core, are issues of power. The loss of power by one is always a gaining of power by someone else, in every aspect of our lives we either have power or we don�t, whether voluntarily or involuntary. Britney series concerns itself with the voluntary, entirely conscious decision by individuals to surrender their power, to become powerless. Without power, we have no real control, without real control over our own lives we�re just objects, mannequins, puppets. Fa�ade series deals with the power of the political figure, the most immediate, effective power in our lives, and becoming increasingly more so.
