CAST (Contemporary Art Services Tasmania) is based in Hobart where it maintains a gallery and offices but it also has a statewide brief to service the needs of arts practitioners and the audience for contemporary art.
CAST�s mission is to develop and promote Contemporary Visual Art in Tasmania and nationally. This is done through the development and presentation of exhibitions, installations and projects in contemporary art. These exhibitions are usually presented at the CAST Gallery although they may be organised for other sites as relevant. CAST also instigates professional development activities such as skills workshops, seminars, courses, information dissemination and forums.
CAST�s curatorial involvement with the Noise Festival is an important opportunity to promote emerging Tasmanian artists.
