Using stocks for work?

I am wondering, is there any legalities that need to be considered in using stock photography? If I submit a work to NOISE, is it considered using the work commerically? I'm also having trouble with the submission form concerning collaborations and as to wether I should state the stockists names or not. Thanks :)

Hey Saint, I imagine the supplier of the stock images probably has terms and conditions regarding their usage. noise is a not-for-profit festival so I think its strongly arguable that submitting work to noise is not a 'commercial use'. However, if in doubt, please state the suppliers name - it cant hurt can it!? cheers, noise/marshall

Thank you! I did a bit of homework as well and visited all the stockists websites I know (Image After, Inertia, deviantART, creativity 103 etc) to check out their terms and conditions. Some are restricted (as in I needed to state the link of the site) and others aren't. Now I can breathe easy :)
