Hey there all spoken word artists. Out of curiosity, to those who submitted, who uses/used music as part of their submission? ie. background music/noise/for effects. I'd like to talk to a few people about developing ways to deliver spoken word. I'm in sydney and would like to talk to sydney siders who maybe would like to hook up for creative sessions. Also like to talk to spoken word artists around aus via email. Post a reply here and I'll get back to you. Be real. Candy.

candy do you know the overload e-list? melbourne-based spoken word and poetry list. overloadnation@yahoo.com Steve Smart started it - it's also a poetry festival in August - Steve, I know you're out there....! I don't know of a nsw equivalent - does anyone? maybe you could start one up!

Yeah I'm out here Lisa, I'm just alittle slow. Just stumbled onto this thread and figured I should reply. The address for the egroup is overloadnation@yahoogroups.com and to join you just email overloadnation-subscribe@yahoogroups.com If you're looking to hook up with poets and spokenword artists, it's agood place, largely Melbourne based but we've got members from all over and are always looking to find out what's going on around the country/world. Oh yeah and we've got a festival on in Melb from August 13-27 if anyone's interested - email overload_inc@yahoo.com.au. Check out the website coming next week, www.overloadpoetry.com, or go to The Program webite and check out the Overload Poetry Festival the organisations section. Cheers Steve Smart
