REMIX FOR NOISE WORKSHOPS Carclew Youth Arts Centre have teamed up with Adelaide Uni�s Electronic Music Unit, to work on your remixing skills and help you develop an entry for the Noise Remix Project (www.noise.net.au). The workshops are being run by Ben Speed (one half of rising hip hop stars The New Pollutants) in July, working on the tracks provided by Noise. It is open to anyone in SA who is 16-26 years old who wants to give something a bit different a go! The Electronic Music Unit is part of the Elder School of Music at Adelaide University.The School has long been at the forefront of work, in Australia, in the field of Music Technology. In the mid-1970s Tristram Cary moved from the UK to Adelaide, bringing with him his renowned electronic studio which he then re-established within the school. The EMU studios and suites provide for recording, non-linear editing and sound design using digital and analogue facilities. EMU is particularly keen to foster collaborative projects between composers, music technologists and performers, whereby sound transformations are made during live performance. EMU provides certificate, degree and post-graduate courses within the fields of music technology and caters for students interested in sound and electronic music production, composition and installation.
