but being a starving artist sucks. sure selling out is screwed, but by the same token burning out and not having any creative energy left cause you are working 2 jobs just to survive is just as bad.
if you sell your soul, just make sure you get a good price.

I work in the "newmedia industry" (bleh) and sure, you have to do jobs with a lot of limitations in them. But if i wanna be creative, i just do it in my own time. I don't think using the skills i have to get paid is selling out, i think it's the way to go. Better than yeah, working in KFC or something... that's selling out on your talent, IMO, and yourself. These little text boxes aren't big enough for a proper rant.

I'm actually quite appaled to see what some of you have written here.. because the solid fact is that music is for people to enjoy and therefore the reason for making it should be none other than to make people happy...
Creating music for money is not a valid reason..
it's people that do this that are destroying music as we know it
just look at the likes of shakira or the popstars... gone in few weeks... in fact most of the popstars are in dept as a result of there quest for fame..
If you got into for the right reasons people will pay you and that is o.k. but don't do it for the money.. do it too make people smile for the sence that you have made something that actually enriches there life... instead of annoying the shit outta them with your bling bling.. anyway take care peeps and don't hang around crossroads at midnight
