Anyone know where I can get a walking stick? At 39 I'm obviously past it. Why is it that no-one over 25 is considered to have any creative talent and might like to showcase it?

Hey! Where are the organisations dedicated to helping people OVER the age of 25? like it's all sooo easy if you are past the 'youth' bracket and don't need helpful organisations, NOT! Further evidence of how, even in the supposedly broad minded arts scene, the idiotic worship of the young prevails. TISM summed it up, "If You're Not Famous By Fourteen Your Finished'

Uhm, "moose", I don't think Noise is about "the idiotic worship of the young", or discriminating against people based on age.
The point is that if you're over 25 you're more likely to be established in your discipline, and should be looking to enter broader competitions like the Communications Arts awards (http://www.commarts.com/ca/magazine_d/comp/)... there's hundreds of similar comps out there... I think Noise is more about giving a leg up to emerging artists.
So quit bitching and go submit to one of the others ;)

baby you're a spring chicken...i'm 31, still playing around with bands, taking care of a zine distro (VOX POPULIS : http://vox.i85.net), still being young and crazi...i have friends who are 43 and have more youth than most youths...
age restirtictions are for the young...

Hello to the all OLD farts and YOUNG aspiring deesigners artist etc -
How about this - call me stupid - but I have a sugestion - Why not all people that are interested in doing stuff together be it applying for competitins or collaborating or whatever get together (AND IM NOT TALKING JUST OVER SOME WWW BASED CONSORTIUM ) and do something. In the manner of Bauhaus - or any other creative movement - Its true YOUNGIES have it easier - belive me i know being in the industry 6y slaving ower the Liquid screen and with no time for anything else but making name and bucks for my bosses.
