NEW MEDIA | NATIVE TONGUES

noise is seeking young people (25 and under) from a non-English speaking background who create new media works 

DIGITAL ALLSORTS will commission six artists to create new media works that aim to explore different perspectives of multicultural Australia and are easily adaptable for showcasing on the Internet.

That means you can get up to $5,000 to make a new media work of your choosing as well as receiving help in creating your work from an experienced new media practitioner.

The selected artists and their work will be exhibited on the noise website, on television and in a range of noise print outcomes.

HOW?

1) Download the DIGITAL ALLSORTS GUIDELINES from the bottom of this page...

2) Send your completed Application to noise!

NB:  The Guidelines are in 2 formats (PDF and Text file).  The Application Form is only in the PDF version - you need Acrobat Reader to view this - there's a link to the free software also on this page.

1 Can international students apply for this Initiative?

Answer: Unfortunately, international students are not eligible to apply for DIGITAL ALLSORTS.  All applicants must be either Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

2 What do you mean by new media?

Answer: We're interested in any type of creative work that is suitable for showcasing on the Internet.  These types of works could include animation pieces, video works using digital technologies, FLASH or shockwave works.  Just remember that the budget for these works is quite small.
