Celebrates the 21st anniversary of the National Gallery of Australia

T
hroughout history artists have gained inspiration from others who have preceded them, (examples include: Willem de Koonings Woman V possibly based on Rembrandts A Women bathing in a stream; Claude Monets Haystacks, midday possibly influenced by Hokusais South Wind, Clear Dawn; Lucian Freuds After Cezanne a variation on the theme of Cezannes Afternoon in Naples; and Andy Warhols Elvis based on a publicity shot for the film Flaming Star).

noise and the National Gallery of Australia invites young artists to find inspiration in the iconic works of art featured as part of RE|MASTERS Out and About and encourages you to submit a response to the works using any medium or form you wish, be it a poem, a piece of prose, a digital image, an audio file, a video piece - whatever...

1 How do I download the original images from the site?

Answer: If you 'right-click' with your mouse above each image an option titled 'Save picture as' will appear.  This will allow you to save the picture on your local computer in a bitmap format which can then be converted to a jpg/gif in a range of image programs such as Photoshop.
