1 Can I for example submit a remix featuring a traditional Spanish track?
Answer: Sure however remember we are looking your original work, so you will be judged on how well you adapt this to your own creation.

2 Can I submit a song where only the chorus is in Italian?
Answer: Sure, again the criteria some of the track must be in language what this is up to you.

3 How does work get chosen?
Answer: Most of the work we exhibit is collected through open submission which means that we invite young people from all across the country to get involved and send us their stuff. Once it gets sent in noise staff and other individuals who are specialists in their field choose which work to exhibit.
For some activities we commission specific work from specific people. We find out about these people through arts organisations and media bodies that we work with and through the grapevine.

4 What format can I submit the track in?
Answer: All entries must be recorded on a CD or DAT and be sent to noise with a completed submission form (you can be download one from this site). No MP3s please.

5 What sort of bilingual tracks are noise after?
Answer: All music submitted must be original material. Strictly no covers. The track must have some lyrical content in a language other than English. Your entry must not use any un-licensed samples (only cleared samples may be used) of any other artist�s works.
Music must be modern, to typify the �Alchemy sound�. Example genres include: Global Hip-Hop, Afro-Beat, Indian Fusion, Raga, Reggae, Dub, experimental electronica, hybrid allsorts feel free to create your own.

6 What the best type of track to send in?
Answer: For starters your best track is always a good option. The main thing to remember is that Sonic Allsorts is seeking music infused with at least one other foreign language, so just ensure that your bilingual skills are in the mix.

7 Who can enter a track?
Answer: If you are a solo musician then you need to be 25 years old or under. If you are a band, then at least one key member needs be 25 years or under.

8 Will we need to perform the track?
Answer: Yes, this is quite possible. As a part of the project, SBS Radio�s Alchemy program would like to invite selected artists to perform live at various venues around the country. This performance is to showcase the project in October 2003. So ideally you will be interested in performing live should your entry be selected.
