Are you interested in VISUALLY remixing an existing creative work?
noise and the National Museum of Australia present OUTLAWED REMIX your chance to visually remix a selection of material investigating national outlaw legends.
Ned Kelly, Jesse James, Billy The Kid, The Gilbert-Hall Gang, Musqito, Salvatore Giuliano, Ishikawa Goemon, Pancho Villa, Hone Heke, Phoolan Devi, Shui Hu Zhuan.
SAMPLING, DIGITIZING, SCANNING, RIPPING, BURNING, BOOTLEGGING
Taking a term from electronic music and applying it to the visual form, OUTLAWED REMIX will commission (e.g. PAY) selected noise artists to utilize material from the upcoming Outlawed! exhibition at the NMA to make new works, sometimes with little or no regard to their original meaning.
In this way we hope to provoke discussion about the tension between 'fact' and 'legend' that often accompanies outlaw legends and why many social outsiders fascinate and inspire us.
If you're interested in being a part of this program upload one creative work that you think best illustrates your OUTLAW spirit! We'll be selecting up to 20 Artists to make new works.
